This online event is a collaboration between arts collectives in the US and Philippines, remembering the resistance against the Marcos dictatorship and continuing to raise voices against the killings, attacks, and the return of tyranny today.
We never forget the dark past while fighting back against today’s descent into dictatorial rule, with brutal attacks on human and civil rights, moving of public funds towards military solutions to the Covid-19 pandemic, and neglect of the people’s welfare.
We draw inspiration from decades of tireless work and narratives of artists, cultural workers, and the Filipino migrant community to resist Martial Law in the 1970s and the 1980s, as we call for a stop to the killings, the search for justice, and action on no less than 29 petitions against the Anti-Terror Law in the Supreme Court in Manila.
Organized by Circa Pintig and Concerned Artists of the Philippines,
in cooperation with Malaya Movement
and the International League of People’s Struggles Commission 14.
