A Celebration of New Work

The debut festival year will share in CIRCA Pintig’s season theme of KAPWA, or kindred, as the festival seeks to connect our Kapwang Pilipino through new writing centered around the Filipino and Filipino American experience. The festival will present up to four evenings of  theatrical works from, up-and-coming and established Filipino playwrights, as well as readings and performances of the following works:

Daryo’s All-American Diner by Conrad A. Panganiban (Chicago Reader’s Best New Play, 2023)

Be A Part of the Inaugural Chicago Filipino American Theatre Festival

Submissions are now closed for the inaugural Chicago Filipino American Theate Festival, celebrating the diverse stories of the Filipino diaspora in Theatre during Filipino American History Month in October 2024.

Presented in collaboration with CIRCA Pintig, Chicago’s oldest Filipino Theatre Company and community arts organization, the debut festival year will share the season’s theme of KAPWA, or kindred, as the festival seeks to connect our Kapwang Pilipino through new theatrical writing centered around the FIlipino experience.

The festival will present new theatrical works from up-and-coming and established Filipino playwrights throughout October.

Selections will be notified no later than August 31st, 2024.
